Bolt-On Body Parts: Running Boards

After removing the rubber board covers (no small task), I had both running boards sand blasted.

When I got them back from the sand blaster, I removed the mounting braces to clean up any rust underneath. Both boards needed a couple of patches at the back edge, but they were salvageable.

They had stretch spots caused by porkers stepping on them for 60 years, so I added a couple of braces for support. I also applied seam sealer to every bracket and brace joint.

Admittedly, the boards are marginal. They both have some rust-pitted areas underneath but since they will be covered with rubber, they just have to be straight and relatively smooth.
