Body Repairs: Seat Mounts, etc. Seat Mounts Original 40 Ford floors were stamped with two raised areas where the base of the seat is mounted. The photo shows a top view of an original seat mount in my neighbor's 40 Ford convertible.

Installation
The replacement floor panels weren't stamped that way so I got two 6 X 20 inch pieces of 1/8 inch plate and welded them to the rocker panel edge and to the floor. (The rocker panels came with reliefs for the seat mounts). I'll drill mounting holes for the seat when it arrives. |

Quarter Window Brace
The original quarter window braces were rusted out where they attached to the rocker panel, so I fabricated two new ones from 5/8 inch square tubing. |

Master Cylinder Door
The front floor kit came with a master cylinder access door and a template for cutting an access hole. After cutting out the access hole, I welded a cage nut to the bottom of the floor to retain the access door. |
